Quality Engineer Salary: £42,000 - £45,000 Location: Falkirk, UKDepartment: HSEQ - UK ServicesReporting to: HSEQ ManagerContract Type: Permanent First Achieve's engineering department are recruiting for a Quality Engineer to support the development, implementation, and continual improvement of the Integrated Management System (IMS), with a primary focus on ISO 9001 Quality Management.This is a key role within the HSEQ function, responsible for maintaining compliance, driving assurance activities, and supporting operational excellence across projects, suppliers, and internal processes. Purpose of the RoleThe Quality Engineer will support the effective operation of the IMS by delivering audits, managing nonconformance and CAPA processes, and ensuring quality standards are embedded across all operational activities. The role also supports continuous improvement initiatives and contributes to quality culture development across the business.Key ResponsibilitiesIMS Support & GovernanceDevelop, review, and maintain IMS procedures, quality plans, and work instructionsEnsure document control and records are maintained in line with ISO 9001 requirementsSupport ongoing IMS compliance and improvement activitiesAudit & AssurancePlan and conduct internal and supplier auditsRecord, track, and close nonconformitiesSupport external certification and customer auditsNonconformance & CAPAManage nonconformance reporting processesLead and support root cause analysis activitiesEnsure corrective and preventive actions are implemented and verifiedRisk & Operational SupportSupport quality planning and verification of controlsConduct inspections and assurance activities across operationsData & ReportingMaintain QMS data integrityProduce monthly quality reports and support KPI dashboardsTraining & CultureDeliver quality inductions and briefingsPromote quality awareness across all departmentsContinuous ImprovementApply CI tools including 5 Whys, Fishbone, and A3 methodologySupport process improvement initiativesStakeholder EngagementWork closely with Operations, Procurement, and other functions to embed quality standards Development OpportunityThis role provides a structured development pathway within the HSEQ function. Subject to performance and competence, progression into a HSEQ Coordinator role is available, with expanded responsibility across Health, Safety, and Environmental management.Development support includes mentoring, training, and access to professional qualifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, and CQI certifications.Person Specification EssentialMinimum 3 years' experience in Quality or IMS-related rolesISO 9001 Internal Auditor qualificationStrong understanding of Quality Management Systems and ISO requirementsStrong communication, reporting, and organisational skills DesirableISO 9001 Lead Auditor qualificationCQI membershipExperience with QMS/ERP systems (e.g. Infor M3, Q-Pulse or similar)
