Salary: £50,000 - £70,000 per annum (depending on experience)

The Role
The Engineering Manager will lead New Product Introduction (NPI), Process Improvement, Quality Control, and Technical Oversight within the manufacture of high-precision components.
This is a hands-on leadership position that blends technical engineering expertise with project and people management, ensuring exceptional quality, performance, and delivery standards.
Key Responsibilities
* New Product Introduction: Lead end-to-end project delivery - defining objectives, planning, managing budgets, and ensuring on-time, on-budget completion.
* Process Improvement: Evaluate and enhance manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and boost productivity.
* Quality Control: Work closely with QHSE/Compliance teams to implement and monitor robust quality systems (ISO 9001 / AS9100).
* Technical Oversight: Approve design changes, review engineering drawings and specifications, and oversee technical documentation.
* Team Leadership: Mentor and develop engineering and technical teams, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
* Stakeholder Management: Act as a key point of contact for clients, suppliers, and senior management; provide progress updates and technical consultation.
* Budget Management: Monitor project costs, allocate resources, and assist with bids and cost estimates.
* Compliance: Maintain documentation and standards for audits and certifications within the Integrated Management System.

Essential Skills & Experience
* Significant and demonstrable CNC machining experience.
* Knowledge of metal treatments, plating, and painting.
* Strong background in New Product Introduction (NPI).
* Proficiency in offline programming and 3D modelling.
* Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
* Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
* Strong commercial awareness and decision-making skills.
* Proficient in MS Office and ERP systems.

Desirable Qualifications & Skills
* Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline (Master's or MBA advantageous).
* Experience with Six Sigma, 5S, SPC, FMEA, CPA, or Computer-Integrated Manufacturing (CIM).
