First Achieve Engineering are working with a well-established client based in Oakham who are looking to add an Electrically Biased Vehicle Fitter to their growing team.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a forward-thinking company that designs, builds, and maintains specialist vehicles. The role is ideal for someone with hands-on 12V DC vehicle electrical experience, who enjoys both electrical and mechanical fitting work.


🔧 The Role

As an Electrically Biased Vehicle Fitter, you'll be involved in:

  • Installing and wiring 12V and 24V DC electrical systems on a variety of vehicles.

  • Fitting and integrating components such as lighting, sensors, control panels, and auxiliary equipment.

  • Reading and interpreting wiring diagrams and layout drawings.

  • Conducting fault-finding and basic electrical diagnostics.

  • Assisting with general mechanical fitting and assembly work as required.


⚙️ The Ideal Candidate

You'll have experience working on vehicles, plant, or machinery in a hands-on electrical capacity. We're looking for someone who:

  • Has strong 12V DC wiring and installation experience.

  • Comes from an automotive, HGV, PSV, or plant equipment background.

  • Can confidently use wiring diagrams and hand tools.

  • Is a good communicator and team player.

  • Takes pride in delivering high-quality workmanship.

(Please note: this role requires automotive electrical experience - not domestic or commercial electrical training.)


💡 Desirable Skills

  • Experience in vehicle conversions, coachbuilding, or fleet installations.

  • Knowledge of CANbus systems or vehicle diagnostics.

  • Basic mechanical fitting skills (drilling, cutting, assembly, etc.).
