First Achieve's Engineering Division have an excellent opportunity for a Mechanical Test Fitter to join an established and growing company in the Edinburgh region. Our client is an international manufacturer, dedicated to defence industries world-wide.
- You cannot hold a passport/citizenship for any other country, except the UK. Dual citizenship is not accepted.
- You most likely will require your own transport.

- £16.67/hr
- 37hr/week
- 4 day work week, Monday to Thursday
- 7am to 4:45pm
- OT 1.5x
- This role will report directly to the Test Supervisor and you will be expected to work with minimal supervision, once you've been trained.
Duties will involve the following:
- Work in collaboration with the Test Technicians, Supervisor, Assembly Manager and Works Manager.
- Co-ordinate and perform test procedures on components and assemblies.
- Testing involves methods such as hydraulic pressure testing, external water testing, load testing's and N&V testing.
- Follow all departmental documentation procedures.
- Contribute to the development and enhancement of processes and procedures.
Essential skills, experience and knowledge:
- Have a traditional mechanical engineering apprenticeship and/or an HNC/HND/Level 3 SVQ/NVQ in a mechanical engineering related field.
- Be a currently practicing mechanical fitter/technician/service engineer who has had prior or current experience in testing.
- Experience of performing hydraulic flushing and load testings.
- Have prior experience operating in a heavy manufacturing environment.
- Have good all round knowledge and experience of hydraulic systems and equipment as well as be efficient in reading engineering drawings and hydraulic circuits.
- Have the capacity to follow documented processes and plans on test sheets.
