 He’s the CNC Machinist turned recruiter, who heads up our shiny new Engineering Sector, please extend a warm welcome to Recruitment Consultant, Warren Kelly

 

Hi Warren, let’s jump straight in:

 

Where do you live/where are you from?

I live in Glasgow, but I’m originally from Liverpool…

 

Interesting, so do you have any hobbies outside of work?

Hobbies? Ha, Good one. I have a 2-year-old and a 3-year-old…  

 

Wow! Two children under five is a full-time job in itself, but what was your previous occupation before you joined First Achieve?

 

Directly before First Achieve, I worked with another recruitment company, doing a similar thing. Prior to that, I was a CNC Machinist. Programming, Setting & Operating various CNC Machinery manufacturing components for various industries including Oil & Gas, Aerospace & Renewable Energy.

 

You’ve obviously had a varied career, but what was the first role you filled as a recruiter?

Fabricator/Welder for Martec Engineering in Glasgow. I’m still good friends with the candidate to this day.

 

Aw, that’s great, is that the best part of your job?

I would say so, yes. A week or so after someone starting a new role that you placed them in, when you receive a text or call to say thank you very much, it gives you real job satisfaction.

 

When you do manage to get away, where is your ideal holiday destination, and what’s your go-to holiday drink?

Greece (One of the Islands, not Mainland) & a pint of Mythos.

 

Nice. Any funny or embarrassing stories from interviews?

I literally begged Adam and Allan for this job.

You could say that was a little embarrassing, but I got the job, didn’t I?

 

What would your death-row meal be?

Edible & Large.

Something that takes around 20-30 years to eat.
