Discover Google’s new job search function
Google has been considered a disruptor in adtechsince it first launched its surprisingly simple search engine all the way back in 1998.
Consumers were confused and simultaneously intrigued by the relatively stark page with a search bar, with options to exclusively search Google or ‘feeling lucky’ by risking the quality of results by including other engines like Yahoo, Infoseek and MSN.
Google quickly became the leader in search engines, and soon the business name actually became a verb, with people often saying ‘just Google it’ instead of ‘do a web search’.
Google for Jobs
Fast forward almost 20 years later, and the brand is still a behemoth in technology, but it wants to become even bigger. As it continues to branch out into display ad networks and price comparison listings, Google has broken into the highly competitive recruitment industry.
The tech giant recently launched its own job search feature, Google for Jobs.
Business Insider's Matt Weinberger reported the new feature sorts and organises job listings from LinkedIn, Monster, and Glassdoor.
