Our Client is a privately owned business, operating primarily in the defence industries & have a global client base. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that project specific goods and services are sourced, managed and delivered successfully to schedule, budget and quality. You will report to the Supply Chain Manager, and provide procurement interface to specific projects, as well as commodity management. Ideally, you'll have strong commercial acumen, complimented with a technical background - extra points if it's within Marine or Defence based products / materials. Salary range is up to £42,000 per annum.Flexible Working - offering a 4-day or 5-day working week.Company Pension Scheme (Not your standard 3%...)Training & Development is offered to all employees, with certification/qualifications paid for by the business. What you'll be doing: Manage appointed procurement project interface(s) and commodities, with the principal target to ensure all relevant project procurement requirements are achieved to schedule, budget and quality. Quality Inspector You must have experience within an engineering environment to be considered for this role. The role will cover vendor and manufacturing shop floor quality inspection activities, inspection ofincoming goods and its vendor base, plus shop floor in process inspection:The incoming goods portion will include the inspection of a range of engineering product including:* Fabrication/weldments in both mild steel and stainless steel* Machined components to tight engineering tolerances in a range of materials, aluminium, mildsteel, stainless steel, brass etc* Industrial plastics machined to drawings* Other engineered items that have quality considerations You will be expected to be experienced in the use of micrometers, callipers, verniers and otherengineering measuring equipment. The in-process portion will cover the inspection of assemblies to drawings, checking dimensions, finishand ensuring all necessary parts are in place.
